The main characters in the book are Madhubala, pintu, madhu’s mother-in-law, daksh, agasthya. Madhubala (madhu) is the protagonist of this story and the story is narrated from her point of view. The story starts with madhu in a difficult situation where her husband is more and its been a month since he’s been gone. Just to sink in her grief she starts drinking. All she could do is remember her and pyare’s sweet memories. How he used to love her and now all of a sudden she’s all alone now. To not feel alone she takes help of alcohol. Madhu’s mother-in-law, lalitaji too is in grief but she cares for madhu and ask her to join her school and start teaching again. In her school she meets another fellow teacher daksh. Pintu is madhu’s childhood friend and they like to share each and everything with each other. She feels comfortable talking about her husband and her loss to his friend. She likes to go to nearby beach to spend some me time where she become friends with agasthya. There’s more to madhu’s life which you should read in this book and i’m sure you’ll love the simplicity in which this book has been written. I really enjoyed reading about madhu’s life. The characters felt real. The ending was expected and i wanted the book to end that way so i really enjoyed the book. The language was simple which made the book fast paced. I loved lalitaji’s character she speak less but cared more, it could be seen in her small gestures toward madhu. The book portrayed a year in madhu’s life and how she accepted her husband’s loss and got together her life was worth reading for. I’ll be recommending to you all and read more about madhu and madhu’s life and people around her.
