The main characters in the book are Winston. The story revolves around the lives of citizen of Oceania and one of them is Winston who works for the Government. The book is based on history where Government plays the huge role. This novel portrayed the future of mankind at risk as the history was re-written by the Government(BIG BROTHER) and their employees. People were not allowed to think, to act, to react and when they did they had to face the consequences. The consequences were so harsh which were written perfectly in the book. That was the time when people could not trust themselves as they could get arrested for having a particular facial expression, people couldn’t trust their children, friends, family, neighbors. You will read about how Winston and his life turns upside down dealing with all this in his daily routine. I liked the book in some parts and some i couldn’t understand so overall if you’re a classic fan and love to read and know about history this book is for you.
