Main characters in the book are Nicolas (nick), Alex, Marianne, Toby, Lucas, Christina and last but not the least Pegasus. This is a well written story by Danielle Steel. The story was set up in the second world war in Europe where Hitler is forcing Jews to either flee from the country or join the camps. Nick and Alex are two childhood best friends and story revolves around their lives. As Jews are in danger nick father reveals the truth about his birth that he is a quarter jew and to save himself and his two sons (Toby and Lucas) he has to leave the country. Alex helps nick by giving his well bred horses and one of them being Pegasus, a beautiful white stallion and asks him to join the famous Ringling Brother’s Circus. To save his father, friend, his two sons and himself from consequences he agrees to leave the country with his sons and join the circus. Being from a wealthy family nick finds difficulty to adjust in the circus but by the time he settle down and meet Christina who work in the same circus. While nick struggles to adapt hi new life Alex and his daughter (Marrianne) face danger from the soldiers working for Hitler so he tries to ship his daughter out of the country. What happens next in Nick and Alex’s life, how they survive the war, what all they lost in the war to know you should give this book a read. You’ll know about the circus life, the struggles they face, about the horses, about friendship, and the survival of war and how families are affected from the war. Although this book is 450 pages long but worth a read. So if you haven’t read this books, please do read.
