BUY The God of Small Things | Arundhati Roy

* I won’t be rating this book *

This is book by Arundhati Roy is the winner of the 1997 Booker Prize ( the reason I’m not rating this book). I have read her work before and I was excited to read this book and was expecting a lot because of the previous book ( The Ministry of Utmost Happiness) I read and loved, but somehow this book didn’t meet my expectations. The first 30 pages gave a good start to the book but after that I was lost and confused. The story was focusing present, past and future events of different characters simultaneously which I felt was one of the reason I felt confused. It took me half a book to remember the characters (who they were, the relation between them, what is happening with them) which I felt was not good. But the conclusion of the book, last 50 pages were so well written that they started to build my interest towards the story again as the first 30 pages did. I agree the ending of the book was perfect but overall I lost the interest mid way. So for me it was little disappointing. But would recommend you to read maybe you’ll like or love this book.
