The main characters in the book are Aarav. This short story is of 28 pages only and about Aarav. Aarav who is working as a commissioning editor with a publishing house living with his girlfriend Ishika in a apartment. He is working on his new novel which is about his uncle, who was once a business magnet but in his late days he wound up his business and moved to the hills of mussoorie. So the story starts when ishika informs aarav that they are having a baby and Aarav’s world turns upside down, as he’s not settled yet and is working on his first novel and ishika’s promotion was due for more than a year. And having a baby right now was huge for aarav. Never expecting such an reaction from aarav, ishika decides to move out from the apartment and aarav tries to focus on his first novel as the last date of submission was near. So he decides to move to mussoorie and find the missing diary of his uncle’s journal which will help him to complete the novel and to know more about his uncle and his last days alone in the house. But, he gets to know about a horrific truth about his uncle’s past days which turned the things upside down for aarav. The plot of this short story was engaging but I expected more so for me it was an OK read. The writing was spectacular yet simple. It was a little exciting to read about aarav and his life. The climax somehow was not expected but it didn’t blow my mind, it felt flat to me. So overall it was worth the read. Maybe you all will enjoy this short story. A one time read I would say.
